Street harassment is not a compliment.

i saw this on facebook and this girl commented on it:

Actually it’s kind of MORE messed up as we do have females that see nothing wrong with being exploited like that because they think such practice IS NORMAL. So really we should even mock young girls like this but double our efforts into educating them.

Time for some serious talk because things are just getting out of hand here!

sailormidnight:

I was asked recently if, people on the internet and our culture at large is getting to sensitive. Well here’s my answer to that:

I believe people are finally understanding that words often DO in fact hurt and what’s funny offline, in your culture, or just you yourself isn’t funny to other people. Words have a lot of power and its high time we as a global community start to understand that. As that’s part of the issue as well EVERYONE is on the internet nowadays not just us Yanks here in America who maybe in the past were rich white people. (Cause that was never the case anyways). So yeah that’s making things a little confusing with all the different cultures and peoples mixing it up everywhere. And as we all SHOULD know people are very different even in their collected culture, race, class, gender, or whatever else we use to group lumps of people together. Thus people view and see things differently and are affected by things differently. Check yourself before you wreck it.

Its easy to put the blame on others and say that they are easily offended or sensitive while ignoring our own use of language and words. Instead of spell check I wish we had idk a content check. I think its time that we all just stop looking to try mock people by just slapping them with a butt-hurt label and take time to reflect on our own usage of words.

Did you know that pregnant women have been fired for using the bathroom to vomit, needing to carry a water bottle on the job, or asking to sit on a stool instead of standing in place all day? While employers have to make allowances like these for other types of temporary disabilities, a number of bad court decisions have encouraged them to feel they can get away with firing or mistreating pregnant workers with impunity.
It’s disgraceful and unacceptable that at a time when unnecessary budget cuts are decimating food, medical, and educational supports for low-income families, pregnant women continue to be pushed out of their jobs just as they take on all the expenses of having a new baby.
Read more about the Pregnant Workers Fairness Actand take action by contacting your congressperson.

This is unacceptable. Pregnant workers need more protection. With a child coming up they need employment more than ever. Please contact your rep.

huh I thought it was 2013 not 1913. The fuck!?

Yeah!!! Here’s to the next 38 states getting in line with equality!

I think Pennsylvania will be the last one to allow marriage equality.

The whole South aka bible thumbing country will.

Plus Kansas….

P’Shaw, Pennsylvania is tame compared to the south and the lower mid-west.

(I’m pretty sure southwest PA doesn’t care because we’re so close to West Virginia).

Still pissed off that California isn’t apart of this yet.

Don’t let the delay get you down Sokka… I mean moonies

sailormidnight:

Misleading tweets from MANGA editors be dammed! We have three month of summer! And even if it is just a tad delayed oh well. Fact of the matter is I for one rather a high quality series than a rush hacked job. So just a daily reminder to Keep Calm and believe in the power of Love!

Also I’m watching season one in English and its dangerous to my health.

sad-teeth:

So today Angelina Jolie had double mastectomy, which is the removal of one’s breasts, to prevent Breast cancer. So instead of praising Angelina on her bravery, men on Twitter decided to ridicule her, even calling her stupid for removing her breasts. For those of you on Tumblr that are attacking Feminists about being delusional about sexism against women and misogyny here’s your fucking proof that sexism and misogyny exists.

CALLED IT and then the women who will agree with these scum bags just to try to make themselves look better thus completing the cycle of hate and stupidity.
